Ouch for sure, sorry to hear about the fish. I had the same happen this past week with the two dozen catfish I had indoors in a 75 gal tank... the filter pump died and all of the fish died before I noticed it. That was unpleasant because mine were dead a couple days before I noticed. But mine were not nearly the loss that yours were because they were all in the 3-6inch range.

As for the old threads... I do go through all of the threads that I've subscribed to anytime I see updates, but I've slowed how often I come here since it seems everyone has mostly moved on. I think our Aussie counterparts might be coming back from their summer disappearance now. I myself have slowed on my AP system because it got overwhelmed with aphids this past winter and I have not finished cleaning it out yet... plus I didn't want to plant anything new this year because I hope to shutdown and redo a big area of the AP, so most of what I have going on now is dirt garden and dirt hoop house stuff, which people don't seem overly interested in.

Yah, the next week something happened and my air pumps came unplugged.. since the power was still working the pump alarm didnt notify me and i lost all the fish...

It's that kind of loss that took the wind out of my sails and made me shut down and sell or give away all my equipment. Well, that plus a move that I'm in the middle of now.

But once I get established at my new location in Dallas, I may start rebuilding.

Hey Brian, I'm getting that urge to start rebuilding, now that I'm about 90% moved into the Dallas location - I'll spare you the soap opera as to why it's only 90% and why it has taken so long.

Do you think you'll have any fry or fingerlings you'll want to sell in the upcoming months? I'm trying to avoid making a trip out to a hatchery if at all possible since I'd only be buying a small starter amount.

glad things are turning around for you.. no i wont have any fingerlings..

i only do native fish now which means no tilapia and my attempts to breed crappie this year have fallen through because i been bed ridden the last month with a shattered tibia and still wont be able to walk for 3 more months..

I just wanted to comment on your system BCotton. I love the beds at ground level! I wish I could do that here, but we have too many rats roaming the neighborhood. They can probably get on my raised beds if they really want to, but in my mind, at least, it gives me some peace to have them up high.

i had mice... rat snakes and my cats destroyed them... now i have rats and birds... the cats still help

If only my wife weren't allergic to cats!!! We had a great mousing dog, who sadly passed away a week ago, but she was a mouser in her prime........

yah, i have been relearning to walk for about 6 weeks.. so i am not back to "normal" but i am getting around. slowly cleaning up the overgrown back yard and getting caught up on system maintenance.. will start seeds for fall harden in the next couple weeks through august and into sept
