does crushed shell grit make the water go a bit murky?.It's in some tights.

Initially, if there was dust in the bag from the shells rubbing during transit etc, but it shouldn't be substantial and should clear up very quickly. If not, then it may another issue.

It was washed & boiled and then washed again (rinsed),then I crushed it all with a hammer.This murky situation only started when I put the shell grit in,so it must be that.

I checked Ammonia & NO2,both at 0ppm.Nothing else has gone in the system.This system is indoors so nothing could have got in.

I've never read anyone saying that their water went murky from putting shell grit in.That's why I thought I'd better ask.

Hi,just to finalise this thread

it was the crushed shell grit that was causing murky/cloudyness to the water.It sorted it self out after a couple of weeks.Thanks alot!
