I built a back yard 10X12 green house. it is an Aquaponics system with a 400 gallon fish tank at the center, 64 gallon nitrification system. We are in the Zone 5 area. so the green house has a solid 6" insulation north face and roof. South face all use 2 layer 1/8" Polycabonate sheets. Some key characters are:

1. It is all powered by 2 pieces 100KW solar panels, 100AH (x2) batteries.
2. Rain collection system deliver the 90% water source.
3. 12v air change fans (1 push 1 pull) control by temperature sensor.
4. High tank drip irrigation system to the plants.
5. 20 large goldfish in a 400 gallon fish tank and 64 gallon nitrification system
6. All the water and air pumps can control by Wifi. Any cell phone can control schedule them all.

I start this project last year Aug. it passed this hardy winter (use a 600w heater 3 nights only, when temperature close to sub Zero (0F). Everything so far so good.

So glad to see all the friends have same hobby.

not sure what you mean by "64 gallon nitrification system".
using bioballs or something similar ?
how are you using up the nitrates ?

2 32-gallon tanks hold filters and bio-balls.

I pump the water from nitrification system to a 18 gallon tank on the roof high and let it drips to the all the plant (picture 3). I use dirt grow 90%. don't recycle water.
