Hello Guys

I am new to this forum and just recently bought a house near Vermont.

I am originally from the UK and I have a habit of carrying out DIY.

I retired and bought a place here to relax and spend some quality time. However, I also love nature and would be spending a lot of time renovating this place.

I have yet to close the deal but I visited the place last year and this is the picture (attached with this message).

I am looking to clear out a few things and add a small fishing pond. I am not talking about catfish etc. Just something small like Goldfish that would look beautiful.

I found a lot of cheap fishing tanks on ebay like these: https://www.ebay.com/bhp/fish-tank

But let's be honest, they won't last too long out in the open.

An actual hot tub that might be able to double as a sturdy fishing tank. However, this is an investment which I'd need to be careful about.

I am very excited to move to the US and I'm hoping this forum can help me in moving to the US AND in my DIY work

Lots of options for fish ponds

Stock tank / troughs

Cut down water tanks use the rest of the tank for raised beds / worm farms

Build one with recycled bricks and a Pond liner

Recycled spa

Start a thread in members systems to keep your pics all together

Might not need to "invest " much money in a hot tub. Keep an eye on a couple of the sites such as letgo or offerup that have things for sale and for free. Not sure about vermont, but here I had a choice of 5 or 6 hot tubs for free or very little money. I finally settled on a free 2600 gallon tank that I cut at the 900 gallon line, buried 2/3 in the ground for a really nice fish tank.

It is amazing that you start your 'new life'! At a certain age it is good to take a rest and see the life from different perspective. Hope you will do well in USA! Why didn't you want to buy something in UK? What convinced you to move so many miles out?

Also interested in hearing why you chose the US. Seems like everyone hates us these days at least that's what the media wants us to think

Also many many styles of stock water tanks to match the style of the house could work.
