Thanks Joe and Dasboot. There are more of similar size in the tank that I have seen, and I bumped into something very large when slowly sweeping the net deep in the FT on Friday night.

Only about 60 left in there now, and I want to have them all out by early December, so I'll need to make some room in the freezer soon! I guess we'll have to eat more- but one of those big ones takes us a few days to eat- first hot after BBQing or baking, then various other ways- cold with salad, on toast, in a stir fry with rice and veg, in fishcakes, or just as is when feeling a bit hungry

We're becoming big fans of fish tacos.

4 more harvested last night in one scoop of the net, down to 57 in the tank. Largest was 2205g, average 1470g.

They are HUGE Trout !!!

The potatoes continue to expand like crazy!

Thanks Scotty, I'll no doubt prepare some to freeze as chips ... that's fries for the Americans I don't think we'll be able to eat them as fast as I harvest.

I suspect some of them might be growing in the gravel, after spreading from the bags on the GBs, so it will be interesting to see how they turn out.

The big trout keep on coming Probably 37 fish left, but I'll be taking more out soon, with high 30s to low 40sC forecast for the next week, continuing the heat which has this month running 1.5C higher than the previous record high Jan average for town.

First lot of spuds harvested this summer, 6.5kg. There are many more than this still to harvest. I sent some to the market today, 6 X 500g bags, all sold

Fantastic haul mate, so very inspirational. I wish I could keep my trout over summer.

Thanks Liney, it just takes a water chiller to make it possible! However, with all the 40C+ days forecast, it will be pushing the limits of the system over the next week, so I will be pulling more out when I can.

Aiming to get a new batch of fingerlings in mid to late Feb.

Last night I pulled out 10 more trout - keeping the water cool enough on 41C days is proving to be rather difficult.

2735g and 575mm long is the biggest that I've caught so far. That's 6lb and 22.6 inches for those in the USA!



Today and the following 2 days are also forecast to be in the 40sC, so more will be coming out tonight and Friday... until the tank is empty. Catching the final few is always very tricky in that big tank
