This post covers how to use the advanced search option available to the forum....

The advanced search can be found here...... and looks like this....



eg. it is advanced ie. we can just look at search returns in SUBJECT HEADINGS instead of all text.
you can also limit the search to certain forum members/authors...

An example for searching for information on SLO's that shows threads dedicated to the topic is done in the example above and results shown below... note you only get threads whose subject has SLO in it, not all the individual posts...

maybe you recall that Joel (Earthbound) once set up a large scale trial DWC system.....



then you get to it with many many fewer posts to wade through....

looks like figures got junked in the recent forum issues (they loaded fine when first posted for a short while)...

in this case we want to locate the old DWC trials that Joel (earthbound) did at the BYAP shop in Jandakot.





obviously you can do a lot more - and maybe others can post examples of common ways to search using the forum search tools here as well. Hopefully this post promotes some more efficient searching of the forum....
(and provides a how to search FAQ that we can point to when helping people out).

I think that will need to be Joel, I don't see a way I can do it easily since it's not currently an option.

The google method is as below... using the BYAP forum URL to just get BYAP threads/posts

the main thing to know is that after you do an initial search in Google (eg. Backyard Aquaponics forum) then you click on settings to get the Advanced Search dialogue... that bit is not so intuitive... see below
