It's a shame to build such a great little system only to have snakes stop you from using it.

I know it doesn't look the greatest but you could lay snake netting on the ground around the perimeter, even if it was 10' back from the system. You might not need to keep it there full time, once you caught a few snakes it could be removed until next season.

Operation surviver worked out very well.
It turned out I had 3 left 2 deco and one Butterfly.

That is an interesting idea.
Our Bulls a rather small, maybe 50 cm and the Coy are just Aquarium size at the present. I think once they get larger, twice the size of a mouse, they will be of no interest for the Bulls we have.

But I would have never thought a Bull would go swimming and do hunting in water and under water.

You never quit learning and nature will always surprise you.

So its back to the pee into pond

That's a good idea using the PVC pipe and that will give them a bit of protection.

Snake size doesn't matter with the netting, big or small, the moment they make any movement other than staight ahead it catches on their scales and when the fight it they tangle up in the net.

Joeblow always has the best ideas, thank you buddy. That looks like a winner for sure! I wish I'd known about that years ago when a decade ago a Bull snake got caught in the chicken wire after scarfing a fake egg which it couldn't crush Poor snake That one was well over a meter long!

Today was piggy day. The little ones are as cute as it gets. Tame like puppies. you scratch their bellies and they roll over and make the funniest sounds. Same with the adults, you call them and they come in a gallop.
Scratch them under the belly and they roll over for more.
That will be fun and even better than I have hoped.
Very nice family and the girl very smart and nice.
What she makes on her animals, 4H and young farmer goes to her college fund.
So me buying my pigs from her, is well spent, far better than going to an adult breeder.

The adult pigs, bores and saws have a fantastic temperament and mentality and are very people oriented, perfect for my needs. I will pick them up in the first week of August.

It was the single largest rain day of the year, 6.4 mm. It just may have saved my 40 acres of pasture.
But it is just a drop on a very, very hot stone. 2 or 3 cm would have made a real serious difference.

Monday we are back to 90s and the moisture will burn of.

Rest assured, Climate change doesn't exist. We got a little something, barely got the ground wet. These days we're glad for cloud cover, at least the blazing sun isn't sucking the ground dry
These is one solitary Elk down in our pasture. I don't know if it means anything, but I can't recall seeing only one Elk at a time.
