So i saw on youtube a simple maggot dispenser for chicken made of bucket with a lot of small holes in bottom and it works on principe that fly go in buckets from above and mate inside of it were are kitchen scraps.then maggots drop through bottom holes.so i want to ask does it work and if it work does anybody tried to put it above trout pond

It does work (so I've heard). This is commonly used for black soldier fly larvae (BSF) where usually a protein source like meat is embedded between layers of leaves (to reduce the smell) and the resulting maggots exit the bucket and fall into the water. It's on my to-do list though it is not yet near the top.

It's an old fishermans trick to hang a dead rabbit or possum over a stretch of river that you want to fish in a week or so. The carcase gets flyblown and trout are just hanging around underneath waiting for the maggots to supply them with an easy meal. Then along comes a gent with a hook and voile....trout for dinner!
