One of my employees had both knee replaced, with 66, she was back on the job after 4 weeks.
The job requires a lot of standing and walking, I do in a 7 hour shift about 6 to 8 miles and maybe sit for 20 minutes.
A friend of mine had a hip replaced, she is very heavy and was back on a horse in 2 month, walking with a cane in 2 weeks.

One more thing, since you have now solved your dental problems you will actual see over the next year or so an improvement of all those inflamed areas. It took me about a year or so.
The constant infections the teeth caused had a huge influence on my arthritis.

Very cool Gnoib. I was hoping for that too. Now my wife is getting teeth pulled for bottom dentures. She has Osteoarthritis.
I am getting a new pair already and we both went in to the rural dentist in Mora yesterday.
While she got work done I went to the Mora River with my dog.

Poor guy got covered in cuckleburrs. My mistake, I should have known better to bring him to the river this time of year. We already removed dozens.

Thanks for the help. Now that I have an idea which direction to go, I feel so much better spiritually. I was getting pretty low for a while.

Still no progress on my health. Oh well whatca gunna do? I made appointments with Orthopedics place locally as well as followup with rheumatologist and will go to physical therapy to get this bursitis and or sciatica out and my life back on track.

Anywho, I got the wood heater back in with my son's help. The roof jack isn't water tight yet, perhaps today if I can find a triple wall pipe locally which should be available.

Fish are doing well and growing like crazy. Tomatoes are flowering again and producing fruit. Cucumbers and Bell peppers coming in once a week. I still need to get in the greenhouse and hack the tomato vines back so I can get into the dirt bed and see if anything I planted in there has survived the great tomato takeover of 2017 :wave1:
Filters and sump appear to be working well. Hornwart has reached the surface of 10,000 liter 2600 gallon FT in more than one place. Those are tied to little rocks and sunk to the bottom of the pond at around two meters or 5.5'.
The hornwart did well in the outdoor Koi pond but I need to clean the wind blown dirt off them once a week as they get pulled down by the weight of the dirt, which eventually get stuck in the SLO. I see when this happens because the water flow into the pond drops and I can hear the water inflow to the sump trickling. I hadn't been able to get the Koi pond covered due to my immobility, I still have hope of course.
The trout like the quad power-head and stay in front of it often.
That's my report and I'm so happy BYAP is back online.
Thank you EarthBound

gosh Brian I think that wood stove would look great in my greenhouse if you don't want to go through the effort of figuring out the roof issue.

It is a beaut isn't it?
I almost have it figured out with the help of friends.

originally I had cut all the wood back away from the pipe leaving just the tin from the roof. Then I ran the uninsulated pipe straight through. That worked for two decades, but I need to do it better now. Plus it looks like snow outside.

We have a 4/12 roof line and vaulted ceiling in this room. I will be in the hardware stores shortly seeing what is available here and now, then making the plan from there. :laughing3:

Just remember, 3 feet higher than roof @ exit point, or two feet higher than any part of the roof within 10 ft.

If you would like a more informed opinion with everything possible to meet your install.

Woodland Direct - it is where I bought my stove last year and got what I needed and was plug and play with no running around.

Through the roof/attic kits, flashing, pipe (single/double/triple) in 1-4 foot lengths.

After order, parts here in 3 days (FedEx) stove came 3-4 days after (freight).

Thanks Adam. I made progress on the chimney project. Funny thing is this disease seems to know I spent the last ten years of work on a ladder :support:
Yesterday morning I was getting my head together to install the framing for the new chimney through the roof when my wife comes in from the running Jeep (she was going to an early dentist appointment) saying " The Jeep doors are locked." We have only one key for the Jeep. I had to use a metal coat-hanger to open the door  It made her late and me too cold. We got her going and she got to her appointment and the dentist did the work, so that's good. When I turned my computer on I had written, "Happy Halloween everyone." I have no idea this morning what I was gong to write here.
Probably something about the chimney project.
First thing I did yesterday morning was read the directions :laughing3:
I used to laugh at directions. I was determined to work though the pain of what now feels like Sciatica. I've have an an appointment with an orthopedics group on the 2nd so once I know there isn't a problem with my hip I'll head over to make an appointment with physical therapy. I need for this to stop, I have too many things to do before it really gets cold here.

I see you suffer from sciatica,I know what this feels like,I ended up having keyhole surgery to finally rid myself of this awful pain,I still suffer from back pain for which I have to be constantly vigilant on the way I do things, even things as simple as lifting the shopping from the back of the truck I have to be careful. For some reason I am going through a bad patch at the moment, some days it’s hard to stand up straight, even driving over a bad road is jarring through my lower back.
Oh the joys of getting old....

Thank you Andy. Truth about getting old. I do hope I again can get pain free, I say naively. I worked on the roof most of the day, well, until the pain of standing on a slanted surface got too much that it was difficult to function safely.
Sciatica is terrible and a pain that is difficult to ignore. I hope you can get more relief Andy.
Life can be testy.
I'm going to do everything in my power to get my mobility back. The remission meds the rheumatologist prescribed appears to be working, I just couldn't tell because of this pain in my leg, doh! This disease seems to like to screw with my head and it got me again. I thought for more than a month that this was the inflammatory arthritis. I have more hope now, I need it.

This project doesn't have to do with aquaponics other than a minor connection that this is how we warm the house and though the French doors to the greenhouse.
The main thing for me is I see the light at the end of the inflammatory arthritis deep dark tunnel.
First project out of this month long idleness.
That part feels fantastic.

I'll go unplug the SLO. The Hornwart I added this Summer gets dust and dirt on it because it is exposed to the wind and the weight pushes it down.
I will ride this excitement from a back to work feeling and Nell and I will put down some of those bedroom tiles

Looking good, and none too soon. I'm sure cold weather is in your forecast. For the Hornwart, can you put a powerhead in the koi pond for a small bit of circulation to help dust them off? Maybe they like still water, I don't know.

Thanks David. I covered the Koi spa/pond with sliding glass doors. That'll keep it clean. Also I added an air bubbler to get them through the winter under glass. Oh boy the Guinea fowl made quite a after they noticed I covered. Those kooky birds are such a delight.

Nell and I teamed up for a nice length of time and did tile work. We also did some good moans and shrieks during this two hour project. It's greatness is in the effort and that we could do more on another day!

Since the tile we were mating to was done weeks ago it made that edge a little rough to get the fresh tile up against. We made certain we had clean crisp edges. Meticulous craftsmanship may be a word from the past.
We're so happy
