Is there anyone on here raising pacu?

I switched from tilapia to pacu a few years ago. The fish get to be HUGE. I am mostly doing this for the plants and the enjoyment of the fish and pacu are really interactive with me. I know of people that harvest and eat pacu, but I haven't eaten any of mine yet.

Pacu are readily available on Craig's list as they outgrow the tanks people put them in. I currently have 3 in a 540 gallon system, but am looking to upgrade to a 1000 gallon system and get a few more pacu.

Sounds like fun Karen. I remember someone else asking about pacu in the past but I'm not sure if they went that route or not.

I have commented on using Pacu a few times.
Intended to do a significant upgrade this spring, including new pacu (probably 12). My pacu source (aquarium fish store in the city 60 miles from me) fell through, then My landlord gave me notice to move. I may set up the medium size system (250 gal FT)at the new place next month, but we'll see.
