Hi,
I'm building an outdoor herb garden system this summer with 25 Tilapia powering it. I live in New York State, so I'm hoping to have the system active from May to the end of September before it gets too cold outside. I don't think my tilapia will be fully grown by the end of the season, but I'm growing more for the plants right now. The fish will come later when I can set up some type of 3 season greenhouse or move things inside.

Glad to be here! Hope to learn a lot and contribute where I can.

Welcome to the forum Peter. I think you're right about the Tilapia, maybe you can overwinter some of them indoors to keep your stock going.

Yeah I'm thinking you are to far north for Tilapia. I'm in a non heated greenhouse in Virginia and don't believe I can do Tilapia. I have overwintered blue gills and I have gold fish in there now. If you have a heated green house you might can do it. Or heat the water.

I'm heating the water, but just to extend the season. Over winter is too much. Maybe next year...
