Gonna need to dish out some more information about the system before we can be of much help :thumbright: . Give us an idea of what the other components are (tank size...), how many fish and so on.

Cheers

That looks really neat and stylish! :thumbright: Is there more support under the half barrels than I can see? 'cause they're going to try really hard to warp once they're full of water and media; you might need some strapping or a couple of boards to keep them secure.

With the solids removal, if you have a low to moderate stocking ratio (fish to wet gravel) you might not need anything other than the growbeds. If you want a higher stocking ratio then I personally love my homemade radial flow filter, and I'm building a static upflow filter to go after it; that'll take out the non-settling solids and also double as some extra biological filtration. The combination also polishes the water nicely for any DWC you might be thinking of. Like Scotty says though, we need some more details to give better advice!

Heres the plan , two separate systems ( go blue system , and red team system ) .
The reason is for hygiene and to be able to grow different fish .
so , an IBC ( around 800 litres ) pump up into a filter of some design , SUF , swirl , RFF , not sure which , then onto a 100 litre grow bed using 12 mm pea gravel medium and return to fish tank using gravity .

Will this work ? :dontknow:
Too simple ?
All fishes died ?

Sorry more details , wanting to grow trout in the winter here in Perth , in one tank , and silver perch in the other tank . I might start with gold fish for a while to see how it goes , and do the trout next winter . Silver perch next spring/summer .

Have a great day/night !
