My wife did some research looking for a more salt tolerant berry hopefully these will work good.

Thanks for sharing, might prove useful for someone out to grow strawberries in the AP. I've grown Albion in soil and it's really good. According to the blurb on the link you posted San Andreas says it's even better early in the season than Albion . Camerosa should be good since it looks like you're trying for a mass of berries with that one (it's not day neutral) to do some other things.

I grow in soil but the chickens pull the plant tags so I lost track of what's what but I know I have Ozark Beauty, Tristar, Quinalt, Albion and a couple of others .

I had to do a quick trip to FL but I am back eating salad again. My lettuce really needs eaten.


The strawberries and doing well. I just need to get the PH back up some.

Just a curious few questions about your strawberries.

What is the size of the GB you have them planted in?

How many plants in the GB?

What is your spacings?

My grow bed is large 3’ x 20’ or 1 m x 6 m.

I have 30 strawberry plants but a few of them are in my DWC.

About 21 in the GB 9 in DWC.

The spacing is 9"-10” apart.

3’ 1m wide bed I have 3 plants across. They my be to close together.

The bed is slowly filling up.
We have strawberries
Two kinds of tomatoes
Two jalapeno peppers
Three Pimiento peppers
Catnip my son talked me into it.
Parsley.
I need to start more lettuce
We will be adding some cucumbers, beans and peas.
I am trying for a more balanced grader this year.

ooofta.... catnip is a mint family... it will spread like crazy. The strawberry plants may too... but I guess worst case you just have to haul all of that gravel out again to clean the roots out right? =)

My youngest son loves animals and wanted the catnip. It was not until I got home and did some research on it when I discovered it was in the mint family. I don’t think I would let him get it if I knew that when we were at the store. I will not let it get out of hand. But he has been going into the greenhouse to check of it so I am glad he is more interested.

Now the strawberries we all love. At some point I will set up towers or NFT for them

I bought a fan to help with mold on the back row by the barrels. This could also help with pollination.
I will probably put it on a timer and run it during the day.

I have been eating salad every weekday for a few weeks now. I am about out of lettuce.

The replanted garden is doing well. I have slugs I have killed a dozen of them.
What is the best way to get rid of these?



I bought a bug light for the greenhouse. I won't run it all the time but I have a couple mosquitos and wasps.

Only thing I've really seen people talk about for slugs is beer. I did see one on some of my stuff that I pulled off and tossed in with the trout... they said THANKS, have any more?

I haven't had an issue in the greenhouse so far with anything but fungus gnats, but I do keep a bug zapper plugged in inside my chicken coop most of the summer to kill as many bugs as I can in there. I'm afraid we're going to be eaten alive this year with as much standing water as we have right now, and more rain on the way...

I checked my nitrates and they look good.
The bug light is working well I am just running it 4 hours a night.

My sump tank is buried in the ground about 5’. The tank is about 425 gallons this is about 3,544.5 pounds of water.

We have had very hard rain for a couple days and some flooding in area. I guess the water table in up and lifted the sump tank about 6 inches. I is crazy it was able to lift all that weight. It lifted it into the grow bed.
I have a pipe braces the pipe for the gravity feed. Will it raised that pipe and stopped the flow to the grow bed.

I put in an emergency overflow pipe that just goes back to the sump tank if the gravity feed pipe is closed off. I have now tested that emergency overflow and it works well it kept the fish tank from overflowing.

crazy, I have had my sump tank raise up from the ground water level raising but I only have about 20 gallons max in my sump tank. Apparently your water level must have really increased to move that much weight up.

It looks like the tank went back down at least half the way maybe a little more.
The plants are doing pretty well we are trying to trim the tomatoes as they grow this time.
The parsley did not survive. The peppers are getting blossoms.
