If you want to get really fancy you might want to look for a fiberglass or lexan tank. There are some manufacturers here, and I am sure in Australia too, that build them for the chemical industry. They use them to hold materials and mixing things that would have problems with other tank materials (chemical reactions/etching, etc.). The darned things are super expensive, but would be great if you want your set up to be as beautiful and educational as it is functional.

i havent given up the idea of using the well liners i just havent looked inot it far enough, i reall need to get a look at the location again and wont be able to do it till after we move

good news is that ive been told that i can have the bond from this house all to my self and whilst its only 650 bucks or so its a good start ireccon

delgrade, i wouldn't think you would be picking up ibcs for $170 these days. Anything under $220 is cheap now, unlike 18mths ago when you could get them for a greenback.

niloc, roundup is particularly bad for aquatic animals, i'd think twice about using it. or be VERY sure there are no residues left........................

an ex roundup ibc is the last thing i would use for growing fish. even if the fish survived i would be anxious about eating them. be careful is all i'm saying.

maybe i'm just paranoid though.

Round-up is nasty stuff, and I don't believe that it degrades in the environment as fast as Monsanto would have you believe. Don't go near a Round-up IBC. Yuck!

I would tend to agree with you - anything linked to Monsanto is bad karma :(
