Hi All,
I have tried before but had to move. I am in a new property and would like to create a great system. To start off I would like to supplement my family with vegetables but would like this to grow as big as can and maybe even supply the some to the neighbours.

Here is the area that I am planning to put the pond. I have a koi collection and is big on fish so bear with me in this regard. This whole plan came about looking for a better way to clean my pond and I am quite hooked.
I am looking at building a 50 000l pond here.

Will add picture later as it is to big

This is where the pond will go. I need to add the filters as well. At the moment it is a swirl filter that will go in to a mineralisation filter. The design I was hoping to refine here. I will try and get a diagram done.

Hi,

Does anyone know how may meters of NTF per tilapia.

I found a supplier and he sell 1000 fingerlings per shot cheap.
I do not want to buy them just to kill them. I will have a 75000l pond.
Just need to plan the NTFs.

Thanks.

Hi, If I put the NFT against the wall how much space would be good between the pipes? Would 300mm be enough?

Thanks.

It has being a while but I did get some things done.

Here is the pond section. 9.5x4m shallow end is 1.2 deep end 2m. It has three jets at the shallow end and two bottom drains at the deep end. There is leaf trap and four jets at the top. Top jets have a fourth of the in flow.
Image

I have two radial flow filters for the two bottom drains. A UV light and a aerobic mineralisation tank.

Radial filter normal flow.

Radial filter all flow on filter to show inside better. It has a input of 110 pipe. then two 20l buckets and brushes.
Image

A picture of my foam fractioner I am starting to build to try and get more fines out. This will share the flow with the UV light.

I have most of the pipes just waiting for my Hydroponic profiles. Will be posting when they come.

Looks interesting :headbang: . I'm not sure about the Foam Fractionator use if this is fresh water. I know it's possible but it's not as easy as in salt water. If you can't get this working then a Static Upflow Filter or a Drum Filter would help with the fines. Keep up the good work :thumbright:

My profiles have arrived. I also had to crack one of the T's so have to fix that first before installing these babies.

Added the foam fractioner (Protein skimmer). It is making a stable foam. I am happy for now now to see the results in a few days. I also fixed the broken T and added an additional valve.
Pictures or it did not happen!
