Last night the water was up to 79deg. The infected fish are looking much better (no more visable signs) the salt appears to be working. Some of my plants are starting to yellow and wilt which I assume is from the salt, can I cut back on my pumping cycles to a few times per 24 hrs because I think I may end up losing some plants. Also what level of salt is ok to keep in the tank without harming the veggies?

The highest av. has been 104-108, the temps are about the same as before I put the salt in, I just assumed the salt at fault.

I wouldn't normally run salt, but get it out of the system when treatment is done.

If you wanted to run salt permanently, some plants are affected by salt worse than others. I would think that 2ppt would be OK for most plants.

Remember that if you cut back on pump cycles, you are cutting back on DO. At 79F it's not too bad, but DO starts naturally reducing with the higher temperatures. Low DO may increase fish stress. I wouldn't cut back the pump cycles, myself.

I feel I'm in a catch 22 here, if I leave the salt for the recommended time some plants might die, if I start water changes, then the ich will come back and fish die.

Yep, take care of the fish first, don't worry about the plants (yet anyway).

Your plants look great! I don't know the calculations for ppt. , If I have 9lbs of salt in a 300gal tank what does that work out to?

Very impressed with your plants F&F. At the broccoli getting heads yet. Are the cabbage heading - they look huge.
