I don't know where you are or your elevation there in the Philippines but looking at the Manila temps it's really too hot for doing much lettuce growing.

Asian leafy greens - most suited to those conditions.

Hi disisroy,

looks good - your heat in ummer may have some bite in it so you may end up needing some light shade cloth. But wait and see. Most Asian greens and spinach do OK in light but shaded situations anyway.

your spinach looks ok. I have had crinkle leaves like that before but didnt seem to affect much.
not sure what causes it.

how are your air and water temperatures ?

I though you mentioned getting an IBC or a bigger fish tank ?
You could then move to a DWC for the spinach etc - they grow well in DWC.

If your spniach does not go well try the Ceylon Spnach plant (malabar Spinach) - google it for info.
It is a perenial and will go beserk. I had some here and it went really well.
It is a bit more of a succulent but similialr taste to spinach and used for similar things in salads etc.

maybe for your system you can also cut a few blue barrels across the middle and have some slightly bigger pots that you can grow some larger plants in.

Perhpas also try some wicking beds to see how they go in your climate.
I find that some things grow much quicker in the wicking beds - and they woud be fine in that area [in the picture].

how did your bok choy go ?

did you try some Cos Lettuce - that is much hardier than most other types and seems to be OK in our dry Perth heat (35 degrees +). Might work better for you.

Are you allowed to buy commercial seed packets from internet in Philippines or are there restrictions ?

[ edited couple times to fix stupid grammer and spelling, disisroy too quick to reply ;-) ]

They grew like weeds hahaha covered almost the whole growbed... Decided to try something else to see what the system is capable of... The ibc will be decided after tinkering with this smaller system.. So i would know what to do... And how to make it happen...
