Golly... just spent days (not full time! lol) reading this monster thread, what an amazing system!!

Such beautiful produce from the grow beds and such marvelous fishies... and the meals! YUM!! Watching the system develop and mature was brilliant, as was seeing your photography improve.. well done!

I was gutted to get to the end of the story to find that Faye has sold her system though, so sad.. and why? ... :'(

Hopefully travels and other adventures are as much fun or more as your beautiful AP system was Faye! Thank you for a marvelous read, and the incredible inspiration!

Maybe not this system but Fayes yard going to be featured again on Gardening Australia on our ABC this week.
Is it really 9 years ago since the golden shovel was presented to "our" Faye.....

This is lovely! Ok, now I'm encouraged... This is the neatest set up I've seen in the pics. I was sure this process could lend itself to being both pretty and practical.

Hey, out there, anybody else have a "pretty" set up, especially one indoors? I'm still tweaking my plan with a set up date of 10/01. Your suggestions would be helpful.

My system will be in our basement in a wine themed lounge area outside my husbands wine cellar. So I HAVE to include pretty in my design.

I am new to the community. I was wondering how to keep track of your pH and ammonium levels in the water. Do you have any technology you use, or are you just using strips?

Hi dthach... Yes we do have the technology. We use the "Fresh Water Master Test Kit" from API. They are only about $20.00 so are not to expensive. Go ahead and start you own new thread and show us what you are doing and we can help easier with your questions.

Good to see you guys are managing without me, moved on to greener pastures so to speak, not really I've been spending my time playing in my gardens, tending my animals and I've developed a new obsession or two. I start fungi hunting when the rains come early in our year and travel south photographing them, then the native orchids commence we now have 17 native orchids on our property including an endangered species. I am still chasing bugs and can you believe that we have native bees here, last year I knew of two now I'm up to 17 identified species oh and I make homes for them to inhabit and I do talks around the place on fungi, bugs, bees and gardening. Saturday mornings I host a show called Let's Talk Gardening on Curtin 100.1fm radio you can download an app and listen live - we take calls and answer questions on anything gardening related including aquaponics. We sold our system and part went to a school to continue it's life in education, seems fitting really, I do miss it, there is no easier way to grow vegetables in hot conditions. This week I get to visit the system of Lee J Marshall as I've been asked to interview him as part of the the Waterwise Garden Series of the Garden Gurus on channel 9 and I'm really looking forward to it. I called in and saw Sue recently, things are looking good at Cheidys Aquaponics so I was happy to see that. Hope all is well with everyone, it's a bit hard to keep up with what everyones up to these days.

So have you got any of your system still up and running?

Hi FishyFill, my system was dismantled and relocated two years ago and part of it lives on in its new life at a school to continue to educate with aquaponics.
I sure miss those healthy looking veges outside the back door and that sound of trickling water.

I totally hear you on that.
