Same here...looking at the pictures makes the wheels start turning. I have family that owns a large chicken hatchery. Acquiring the birds should just be a phonecall away..lol

My AP tomatoes were still growing outside until this week, it's been warmer than usual this Fall. The lows down in the 20's one night finally got them. Sounds like you might be supplementing the lighting since the day lengths are shorter, glad to hear they're doing well :thumbright:

Cheers

Thanks! Yeah, no supplemental light so far. I am supplementing heat though. The water helps a great deal but my propane heater is coming on from time to time at night.

All looking great mate, love the chook shed, mine have gone to the big coop in the sky till new ones in January. Have had the bits for the chicken plucker for a few years but never built it. Glad to hear you are happy with yours.

Your place looks excellent keep up the good work. Cheers

Can you show pictures of your heater system thanks.

Sure, I have two heating sources. One is a propane heater that has a thermostat. The other is a water heater in my sump tank that is made from a hot water heater element.

Both work well. The water heater keeps the water about 15 degrees above the air temp so I try to keep my air temp about 65+ so my fish are happy.

The pic of the water heater sucks but I would be glad to forward the link to the actual instructions I used to build it if needed.

Aboman,
I also live in Spokane, just bought a house, and have been reading up on AP systems. I'm curious about how the heating of your greenhouse (both from the water heater and propane heater) has impacted your energy bill. You mentioned that the greenhouse stays around 60F with the water heater going, how do the single digit outdoor temps affect this? Thanks in advance.
