Well i threw together a small system for mum to grow some herbs 6 months ago and she's keen on a slightly bigger build. . Mostly more volume fir the fish but bit more plants and aesthetics too.

We've decided to put one of the pictured together and I'll clad it up similar to my system with colorbond colored poly sheets and stained timber. Will have half a dozen goldfish and a few koi..

Should get most of it done tomorrow and will get competed by next weekend ideally. .

interesting little design Datpsi. Make a nice water feature & pond.
even scope for a bit of cascade.

how do you [she] go reaching the drum at back ?
less issue if plants rather than veg.

Yes i suppose it's not the most efficient use of the space as ibc gb be more volume but wr wanted something a bit different.

As for reach, we'll have side access so less than 500mm top center of bed. .she's little but even she can manage haha.

I'm still not decided wether to run constant flood in the top beef and siphon in second, or just siphon both

If the top bed flows down into the bottom bed, I'd go constant flood in it - you really need a steady flow for siphons to operate properly.

Yes Agee if i run both on siphon it will be directly back to the fish. . I'm thinking I'd prefer to run both with siphon but think the little pump will be deciding factor

And she's up and running and mums stoked with it. . I used the water from the small system and the 4 goldfish ams most of the media, so hopefully speeds up cycling. .
