The AP bug hit me about a year ago watching youtube and have been addicted since. I built a small scale system this year just to experiment around with what worked and what didn't given where I live.
I live is west Texas, the biggest factors i have to deal with are strong winds 10-30 mph, during storms have gusts over 60mph and heat, this being one of the hottest summers on record here. I've tried NFT, F&D, Dutch buckets, and even F&D containers. Anyways, I am planning a greenhouse of sorts to build my AP system in, with a room for my FT, ST and filter. Im planning on 5 media GBs being 16-18"W x 8'L x 12"H and 20-30 dutch buckets. What I am needing help with is sizing my SLO and supply to my FTs. Also thinking about running two pumps in the ST, one for the FT, the other for the GBs.

Everything will be in 330g IBC totes

For my supply to the FTs I will do a venturi on each, with the supply feeding a bar with holes drilled to sweep the solids towards the SLO.

Any ideas, tips, advice would be appreciated.

2 pump is okay but if the Ft pump burns up then no water to fish then the GB pump will drain your sump and then you have 2 dead pumps :(

if you do a 2 pump system make sure to use float switch on them to help prevent the this problem.

I will be using a float switch in the sump just for that reason, and to make up for evaporation
