Hi everyone.

This is Irina and Iulian, agronomic engineer and automation engineer as profession from Romaina. We are some kind new to aquaponics, but ready to start up a small business(local rural zone) using the aquaponic system.
We would highly appreciate any advice of senior members which have a functional system in cold climate.
Unfortunately we will have to start up in a cold place, in mountains at 1000 meters altitude with annual medial temperature of +7 degrees Celsius. The Winter season starts in November and ends in April, with temperatures as low as -20 degrees Celsius. Also the Summer temperatures are in the range of +20/25C only.
We are in need of advice about how to build up the greenhouse buried in ground (we will expose it to South to catch up as many as possible sun heat). Also if anyone is familiar with Rocket stove heating system please let us know some tips about how good is for your system.
We intend to use trout as fish, and mainly salads as vegetables, so once again any advice from experienced user will be highly appreciated.
Thank you.
Irina

I recommend reading this system thread: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=9276

Zsa zsa in Hungary did an awesome job with his system and greenhouse - there's a bunch of links and information in there about running in a very cold climate.

For the rocket mass heater, there's Bigelow Brook Farm: viewtopic.php?t=8898 for the main thread on his greenhouse system as a whole, and https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... QndplSkUuR for his YouTube playlist about the rocket mass heater.

Good luck! :thumbleft:
