I could not think of a better way to describe it but it Does work DO levels are now much higher
without any extra ongoing running costs

I am running mine inside 6m long sewage pipe below the water level no changes in head or water flow

just thought I would share it

now I no longer need to force air through an atomizer and can use more air for running the airlift pumps

here we pay around 50 cents per kw and its about to be hiked again so every watt counts

Sorry.. seems like garbage to me..
Pump water up two meters and then let it bubble back to the tank..
I will bet that there is far more power, needed to lift that water, than would he needed to run an Air-Stone.. :-(

you don't need to pump the water UP any higher than what ever your currently doing

you need to drill a bore hole and place pipe into ground

the water falls into the inner pipe and air bubbles are dragged down with the water flow then does a U-Turn at the bottom and overflows back out the top outer pipe

the other bonus is more stable temps with above ground system as all the water is passing through the earth

how ever still deciding on how to do fail safe sooner or later pipe might get crushed and leak or .. drain entire tank ..

Wouldn't it just backfill? If you dropped it lower then the non head pressure pump would just fill the 1" unless you have a Venturi on the breather....? Then it would just have to push the water up from the lowered/buried pipe? The you tube left me thinking you were just selling it and not really explaining. My opinion. Chaaka Bra

Depending on how it's setup, it sounds like this idea might have the potential to run into supersaturation or nitrogen gas bubble disease issues. I'm not real up on this stuff so you may want to pass this by someone who is before you go for building this.

I had seen "nitrogen gas bubble disease issues" mentioned before by "Stuart Chignell"
but unsure how to test for it

I run Arduino DO meters and keep it around 7


what I can say is per 1000L @ my current 17kg/m3 stocking density

keeping safe densities until I know my yearly cullings
more sales I will stock them denser just leaving headroom for if they go over 600g


I was having to use 42LPM to keep DO stable now with only 15 LPM it is stable
I have over 100KL of water I stopped counting :P I have maxed out my allowed 100sqm FT space however

I have been thinking about swapping over the way I am doing it and do supersaturation after FT before the plants , that way by the time it gets back to the fish it might be safer ?

I have currently been doing it on the return to the FT
