I'm hoping the virus won't make it through water treatment, it'd suck if they did. If Koi owners are hooked directly to the river, then I think they are breaking a few laws.

I'm hoping that the days of releasing cane toads to eat cane flies are over, it'll be a bit better researched.

people like to think it would be better researched, i dont have that much faith in humans.

people dont know if there is a certain type of insect that will act as a host and then pss it onto fish which otherwise couldnt get it, or if it will mutate while in that environment, etc.

it wouldnt surprise me one iota if this was another cane toad situation, where within a few year it will not be safe to eat anything from the murray for many, many decades.

then there is the fact that the murray is fed by many tributaries, are they all being treated too or will the fish just move back in a couple of years later?

how long dones the virus live in the water? will it be unsafe to swim in the murray from now on?
what if a carp bites you, will you get herpes? is it even the same strain as humans get?

what if your dog eats a dead carp and then licks your eye / mouth? are you safe?

Have you had any luck with feeding carp to those Murray cod Torrens Title? Or did you manage to get them back on the pellets?

It was kind of you to let me have a look at your setup last month - and the coffee too! I had been planning to get some barramundi for something more challenging but you inspired me to order 20 MC fingerlings... should be with me in a couple of days.
