Cunning it is not the size of your passion fruit that matters but how you use your passion fruit. :shifty:

Column/signore/anyone else after seeds PM me your address and Im happy to send out. Ive got a collection from the largest fruit from this plant so hopefully the larger genes carry on? Anyone know if it works like that? It may just be luck of the draw but Im not sure.

So to continue the most epic non productive AP thread in history I will disappoint Martin once again with some non AP photos of the ever evolving backyard farm at Tranquility place.

I mentioned a while back I had plans to plant out a food forest with citrus, nuts, berries and assorted stone fruits. I began this around december and so far have pecan, blood orange, mandarin, mango, nectarine, red apple, green apple, lemon, naval orange, avocado, macadamia, passionfruit and loquat. Some of which were already established trees. Ill continue adding to this over the years in an area of yard not used and hopefully have a really good bank of edibles for the family.

In the veg patch at the moment is a single butternut pumpkin that has overtaken the yard and at one stage I counted 65 pumpkins!! But that total count would have increased since then maybe edging on 100 in total.

Holy Cow! I had this vision that Australia was dry. Look at that ... Popped another of my brain bubbles! No need to mention, I suppose that you have at least one green green thumb.

Hiya Charlie, how's fruit fly in your area? Here in Perth we don't have the med fly but we do have another type. The biggest problem is the loquat trees that grow so well in this climate and everyone has a few in the neibourhood, are fruit fly halfway houses. The ff here has been so bad at times that they have even laid in the lemons! Hopefully you have better luck with the ff than I do.
Are you still fifo?

@Boss, there are some very dry/desert parts of Aus.

@Skeggly, funny you should say that because Bear was here last week and he said the same thing. There are fruit fly in our area although we haven't had much on our property so far. But, maybe the loquat will change that which is concerning. Hmmm, my initial thoughts was to make sure I keep the fallen fruit cleaned up the best I can but that is slightly unrealistic. You think I should just pull it? Or see how we go?

The other thing Ive learnt is I will need two avocado trees. Type A and type B in regards to flowering/pollination.

Haas is a great all around performer, pretty much the only avos we get in wa. Been buying another variety here in sa and i dont like them, tend to stay rubbery rather than get nice and soft.

Sounds a lot like here. Except for your yard's lushness

Greenery like yours gives me hope, not to mention a feeling of warm and cozy

Charlie you cut me deep with your disparaging remarks regarding the progress (lack of?) of my AP system... You shouldn't just knock people down Charlie, you should try building them up.

This is emoji is really badly designed - :thumbright: it looks like he is holding his thumb up instead of something else.... :D
