the piece is 900 x 600 the window will be 700 x 400, 100mm border on all edges. going to have bolts spaced 50mm apart with a double silicone gasket seal and another bead of silicone around the edge to seal to the IBC.

Its much bigger then i thought. luckily the IBC was free and i can get more, so my theory is go big and if it fails try again a bit smaller.

AussieAnzac,
Yeah, that will be a great window! :headbang:

What kind of plastic is that? How thick is it?

Hmmm... I've got to make plans for a window. Definitely!

Thanks very much guys,

nosliwmas the window is 5mm thick acrylic from bunnings: http://www.bunnings.com.au/suntuf-900-x ... t_p1010490

should be plenty strong enough. just have to get a seal thats good enough to keep the precious H2O where it needs to be
