Time for an update.

The two goldfish that I had put into FT have done suprisingly well. Since I have no signs of trouble I have now (much to my great delight :D ) added 7 SP. They have been in there for a couple of days and this morning I thought I would give a little feed and they were very keen to eat.
I completed a water test as well just to see how levels are.

The ph is a bit low so I have added shell grit to system.
So far so good. (I think)

Here is a few pics to show my GB and the growth that has taken off. The wife hacks at the greens every couple of days. But growth is amazing.

So now that this system is looking the goods. Time to start my next system. I have the IBC's already, just have to make my mind up on the design.

Hello to all.

It has been a long time between post but behind the scenes I have been following the forums any time I get a chance.
I thoughtI should attach a photo to show an update of my system.
There has been ups and downs but over all it has been good and fun.
At the moment I have 24 silver perch which are in good help and are growing very fast.
I have made my own heater for winter which keep the tank at 25 deg during the winter months which allows my fish to feed well and keep growing.
Thanks

Hello to all.
I have finally taken photos of my heater.
It has a 2200w stainless steel element with a thermostate controller.
I have set it up this way because I can disconnect the element during the warmer months and have the controller to tell me the current temperture.
The heater works welĺ as I position it in front of the pipe outlet in the tank that creates a swirl in the FT.
The contoller I set at 25 degs and will turn the element on and off as needed to keep a steedy temperature.
Now as for power consumption, I am lucky to have a good friend that is an electrician and he lent me his power consumption monitor for power outlets and over a 24hour period in the middle of winter with 10 -16 deg days and 0 -4 deg nights it worked out at $2.75 a day. This includes the pump and the aerators.
Less than a cup of coffee a day.

Great looking setup. I need to install the top up valve I've had for six months.

I had been going to do it for ages. Had very hot days the last couple of weeks was losing a lot of water to evaporation and through transpiration.
