Heres a small video of my tiny portable system that I made a while ago, the video was done just after building it but I only just found it again.. There are some bits of text missing from while it's playing, but you stiull get an idea of things anyway.

Love the syste, and it great hyow you can insert video clips in the post. In case people didn't know, you can double click on the video to make it full scrren too!

EB, do you have grow bed medium in the pipes, or just water flowing through? Watching the vid I thought, portable my butt, I'm not lifting that grow bed! I guess ya ment the pipes? Must be very comfortable just sitting around your system and listening to the water flow.

Ahhh thats the trick though John, the growbed is filled with expanded clay, and it's set up so that there's a thick piece of plywood under the bed, two pieces of angle iron can be slid under the plywood with a person either side it's an easy lift.. And no, theres no gravel in the pipes

AA, the pipes haven't been very good, some plants grow beter then others but the plants can't be left in there for too long or the roots begin to obstruct the flow.. I'll take a pic and post it soon.

Had same problems thought you may have had better luck. I don't like aqua pipes but could have been just me.

Na, I didn't like them much... There was only two plants that I found grew ok, and for me it's just a little too much effort compared with the gravel beds.

Ahhh, i forgot those clay balls are light, ive been playing with too much pea gravel lately, so quickly thought thats got to be soo heavy.
