A bit more progress. Started coating the fish tank, bought some fittings as I get my head around what I need and started digging a hole, either for the next person who pisses me off or a sump. Will see what goes in first

..
Color.. indeed...
It annoys me.that I did not comment about color when the. Rain Water tank was being repaired ..

The black infilll sure makes it hard to see the fishes...

Yes, I had read a number of threads on tank colour and everyone saying how seeing the fish was easier with the lighter colours. So mark it up as a win for the forum :notworthy:

Always finding something when I dig in the back yard. Don't know how long he has been buried, but he looks happy to be above ground.

Some slow progress. Tank cut in half. Started on the support frame.

Almost considering not using the tank now... Could have made a square bed and used liner with almost the exact same dimensions. But will continue for now and see how this one pans out and consider alternatives if I expand,

You might have misunderstood, it wasn't a reprimand about slow progress, but an attempt at a joke, "if I expand". Ha Ha what do you mean "if" ?, of course you will expand !
Looks like you're putting together a quality system, keep up the good work, cheers.

lol, all good rendang.

I need to stop reading about all the other ways of building aquaponic systems and just finish this one first.

Thanks for the compliment. I am sure there will be stuff I have done that will need to be changed, but that is all part of the fun and the learning curve.

I just noticed that you joined in '06, bloody hell ! that's a long time reading and thinking and planning a system ! From that perspective, your build is proceeding at lightning speed. :)

Yep, 06, long time looking :-)

Well, looked for a few years, decided I was too busy to tackle anything at that stage. Came back and started looking again about 6 months ago. Discovered all the thinking had changed, SLO's chift-pist and all these new ways of running systems.

Slowly getting there :-) Hopefully have fish early next year!
