an update on the student systems... the wheelie bin is going strong now with a number of small cucumbers forming nicely and the vines always full of flowers...

The IBC system has had 1 death so he is left with 44 barra in his tank... the cucumber in his bed have taken off over the past week or so (after being almost dormant for ages), and the rocket and shallots are doing well (those in the GB and those in the DWC style tub...

it gets sun for about half the day but misses out on the early morning and the later afternoon..

hey could you draw up a simple diagram for me and put it up on this topic, i dont understand how the grow bed is in the bin????
And did you have the barra in the bin or the ibc

Its not IN the bin... it sits ontop of the bin - will look for the pic I drew on my backup drive... :)

here is a simple image of how the grow bed sits on top of the wheelie bin system... the grow bed simply rests on 2 planks, the pump is below in the bin, and the GB is fitted with an auto siphon... works flawlessly!

Oh, one is def for home... school if I can as well.

I said to the wife... not sure if i cen get a fish we can eat since we moving, its may... december.. and a wheelie bin.. and just use guppies or gold fish...

I love my wife.. she said nah.... get something we can eat... bless her bleeding heart :lol: :lol:
