Just made my first system with 30 Channel Cats looking to add on some DWC rafts for leafy greens.
I have a swirl filter running to clean the water and im going to at 50 tilapia soon

Going to add on some mango trees in any suggestions on how to do it since mangos are prone to root rot?

I'd suggest to put them in the ground.

Trees in AP are hit and miss, and mango trees grow huge, there root system will overgrow the biggest bed you could make (well within reason), and it'll take 5 years to fruit, and you might need to clean out the bed at some stage in that time, which won't be possible with a huge tree in there. Plus AP systems are usually off the ground, and enough tree weight, and they'll come tumbling over.

Keep the AP for quick growing fruit & veg like tomato & lettuce.

My wife has planted a couple of mango trees (one is a dwarf) in my gravel GBs (F&D) so we'll see how they go. There is also a huge (over 3m tall, supposed to be a dwarf) banana tree in another GB that was doing fine until it snowed and we had a few good sized frosts this winter just finished, but it appears to be making a recovery - with all the dead leaves removed, it has new green leaves coming through. The reason I mention the banana is that they dont like wet feet- they mainly grow them on very steep hillsides, yet it is powering along in the AP system. With all its leaves, I'd estimate it weighs quite a few tens of kilograms, causing the GB to sink at one end, but I'll jack it up and re-chock it sometime soon.
