The only problem I found with gravel for media in pipe of that diameter is that it gets heavy. Be mindful of that when you hang them. Don't hang them on something that will bend easily. Not filling the pipe all the way to the top would save some weight. Only fill to the first cut out. The water adds weight as well.

My experience putting it on a greenhouse support that wasn't really strong ended up making the support sag and gave a place for water to collect on the plastic. That added weight caused a catastrophic failure later on.

I moved to rounded roof greenhouse and haven't had those kind of problems at all.

It all looks really good. I hope those fingerlings turn out to be something delicious.

thanks Emp, but the pipes were removed a few years ago now. The fingerlings have all gone :D

I have been so crazy busy with work that I haven't even seen the tank for a few weeks now and I am relying on the children to do the feeding. No idea what is happening up there :(

System looks great. I want to start a second system with vertical hanging planters like yours. Have you run water to them yet, If so where can I see some photos, if not I'll keep watching for updates. I have no idea how to get water up to them and back to the sump without a lot of fanfare.

Keep up the good work.
