How much water do you lose every day when you have a small leak?

It doesn't take much for it to add up quickly. I've got a pretty big sump, but when I've got a leak, it goes down quickly.

Today we're going to take a look at several types of greenhouses. These are just some of the more popular styles and there are many variations. It's simply some information to help provide some food-for-thought when you are ready to build one. It’s a bit long so sit back with a cup of tea and enjoy!

Here's the update on the heavily modified wood stove that we used the past winter.

I'm surprised you're still using the rocket mass heater after what it did. I'd have chucked a tanty and demolished it :)

I'm very surprised as well the water heater metal survived all that punishment, I thought it would have burnt through.

The new greenhouse is slowly coming along. This winter I'll get all my permits, try to save up some money, and we'll break ground in the spring.

Very helpful and informative stove rebuild video. Sometimes I wonder if how-to videos scare people as much as inspire them. The stuff we do is intense, and not for the faint of heart.

It's always interesting reading people's comments...some are like "I can't wait to try that" while other's are like "That's too overwhelming". There's certainly all types of different folks out there! ;-)

how do you deal with the water jacket if the water does boil?

I just increased the pump size to keep it from boiling. It's OK if it boils since the steel really isn't getting too hot. The damage would come from it running dry and then overheating. I guess if I wreck it from my experiments, I can always build another one. ;-)

Years ago I put PEX in the floor here in my little shanty, it comes out next to our wood heater. I've been rationalizing ever since one reason or another why I don't hook it to my stove.
