A place to discuss aquaponics

Have been successful with fresh and salt water aquariums in the past. Moved to new location and would like to start growing some vegetables and fruit. I thought I would integrate the two. I hope to glean some knowledge from those who would like to share. Only in the research phase currently and open to suggestions.

It's fun, addicting, satisfying, and frustrating. Kind of like women. Terrible comparison, but best I could come up with on short notice. let us know what your planning, and we'll try and help you from mistakes. I for one have made numerous over the last few years.

My name is RJ and I am here from Louisiana. I am interested in learning as much as fast as possible as I can. I have been to Haiti twice after earthquake, and aquaponics along with chicken coops were a great food generator, job creator, and etc. I am headed to S Africa in October and they have similar challenges. I thought that bringing this idea may be helpful to them. I really don't know much about Aquaponics, but looking to soak up a ton over the next few weeks. Would love ideas on how to create a farm, needed materials, fish and plant type etc.

Caval, read the ABC's of IBC's on this forum. Easy way to get a basic understanding and they(IBC's) are available worldwide.
