Without having any way of testing if it does anything or not, I'll go with it works great.

It makes me feel better anyway.

I bought one of those total chlorine test kits, but it didn't show up with anything on pure tap water, I think they are designed for chlorine levels in pools.

But I've dumped 4000L in once and all the fish were fine.

*shrugs*

at 4kl, if it didnt work you would smell the chlorine.

All the DWC beds included, I've got about 18,000L (approx) water volume in the whole system, so 4000L is still 1/4 of the system, and I think you can get away with topping up an IBC with 300L from the tap.

They'll suck the chlorine out.

A time back I had the idea of fitting a "Whole House" filter to the house supply..

Never did get to use it, so it is now fitted with twin carbon filters 500mm*150mm

like you - it makes me feel better using it..

As for leaks - well not a leak - but I have a 2000L rain water tank and have it plumbed to my KOI pond..
I turned on the tap and then got a phone call and 2000L later, you can't see where all that water went..
What annoys me most is I have done it a number of times... easily distracted am I..
..

I used some tie wire in a loop to rescue a massive Blue Tongue lizard from the bottom of a deep bored pier hole onsite and set it free in a nearby bit of overgrown garden. Felt like an amateur Steve Irwin and was pretty chuffed with myself.
Then I found it squashed on the road in the morning.
sigh...

Why are dentists still a thing?

Surely they could come up with a mouth wash, or some sort of tooth coating that'll make them solids and not need fillings?

I don't wanna go to the dentist :(

I discovered that dentists now have a numbing cream they can use before the needle. Apparently it's been around for ages, why the hell hadn't I had it used before? It was very, very minor discomfort. Now I just need to get the other side of my mouth done, and I can ignore them for the next 10 years!

Ok vent time...
Why do people even bother to move to this beautiful country when all they ever do is complain about how much better their parent country is and how stuffed up this one is???
Don't get me wrong, i'm all for being proud of your own country and maybe that's why these people pizz me off.
And...
Just because I live in Perth doesn't mean I'm a freaking cashed up miner cos I'm not. I'm a tradesman, dual at that. You can keep your $6 coffee, your $8 pie and your $12 pint.
And if I wanted to work on the mines I could but I prefer to spend my life with my family.
And no, 75k pa does not class me as a low income earner.
:?
Nope still annoyed.
:upset:

Well that's interesting; 3pm and the sky has gone muddy and the sun looks like a red disk in the sky, oh and ash is dropping.
The net tells me its a controlled burn off; sometimes (well lots of times) I don't trust those *sigh*.
If I get killed because of this I am going to be really pissed off.

Ok, my vent for the day is about people and rubbish.. I'm travelling up north of Perth visiting some beautiful places but there are so many people leaving litter, and even worse, the toilet paper... Every parking bay you stop at there's toilet paper blowing around... TAKE A SMALL SPADE WITH YOU, PIGS..

Why are those timer switches so confusing?

I'm pretty good with electronics (well sorta anyway), but I was thumping my head, and had to go and read the instruction.

Damn it, the instructions! Do you know how long it's been since I needed instructions?

Who's have thought there would be three on or off functions, and the damn random setting.
