Thanks JB. I have seen that link before. When I click on the "buy" button, I get an error message. I left a message at the company.

I just sprayed some aphids on Kale and some spider mites on bush beans with a bit of Wrights liquid smoke diluted at slightly over 1 to 200 so we'll see what happens. I used a heavy spray of it which I'm not certain is right but it should at least give us an idea of whether it works.

That was like the 3 cu meter container of K1 from Alibaba. Plus shipping from China, port taxes, duty taxes, ect.

Scotty, keep me posted. Mine should be here tomorrow. I'll give it the white fly test.

So far I can't even tell their uncomfortable. That doesn't really match with the results I've been hearing about wood vinegar but I'll check on them again tomorrow. I found and interesting video on production and use of wood vinegar

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhSmTPdDvAM

these ratios are from the video (there is slightly more info on the video about these ratios)

Pesticide - 1 to 20 dilution
Weed killer - 1 to 50 dilution
Anti Fungal agent - 1 to 100 dilution
Pest Repellant - 1 to 200 dilution
Anti aphid spray (plant lice) - 1 to 400 dilution
Fruit Growth Enhancer - 1 to 500 dilution

Might help to have the directions from the wood vinegar bottle to know the precautions.

Scotty,i have this and from what i can see it matches the info on the label.

the Appropriate Technology Association of Thailand recommends the following wood vinegar/water solution rates for various farm uses (ATA, p. 27-28). Note that, in some cases, no details were given regarding the specific identity of pests:
Repel nematodes – Tomatoes, 1:500 (apply to the base of plants); strawberries, 1:200 (apply to the base of plants); and black pepper vines, 1:1500 (apply in place of water).
Repel insect pests – Cabbage and Chinese cabbage, 1:1500 (apply in place of water); corn 1:300 (spray onto leaves). Control of fungal diseases – Tomato and cucumber, 1:200 (spray onto leaves).
Control of root rot – Tomato and cucumber, 1:200 (apply to the base of plants).
Reduce incidence of chili pepper flowers aborting – 1:300 (spray onto leaves).
Improve flavor of sweet fruits and stimulate development of crops. Mix solution rates of 1:500 to 1:1000. Wood vinegar prevents excessive nitrogen levels, improves plant metabolism and contributes to higher fruit sugar levels.
Stimulate compost production. A solution rate of 1:100 will help increase the biological activity of various beneficial microbes and can decrease composting times.
Combat bad odor. A wood vinegar solution of 1:50 will diminish the production of odor-causing ammonia in animal pens. Supplement for livestock feed. Mixed with livestock feed at rates of between 1:200 and 1:300, wood vinegar can adjust bacterial levels in the animal digestive tract which improve the absorption of nutrients from feed.
Enrich garden soil. Use a strong solution of 1:30 to apply to the garden soil surface at a rate of 6 liters of solution per 1m. to enrich the soil prior to planting crops. To control soil-based plant pathogens, use an even stronger rate of 1:5 to 1:10.
Repel houseflies. Dilute wood vinegar at a rate of 1:100 and apply to affected areas.

Had some rain yesterday that messed up the liquid smoke test so I sprayed again with the same dilution. So far it doesn't seem to be having any affect on the aphids or spider mites that were already there. The plants with aphids were rained on, the ones with spider mites weren't.

Any opinions on this bamboo vinegar? Is this what you really get in Thailand or Australia when you buy wood vinegar and do you think it will work?

The company address listed is a residence. Maybe just an importer who doesn't have a business location.

I dont think it matters what wood its made from, the first part of the process is to create charcoal, then the wood vinegar is distilled from this.I found this which does a fair job of explaining how its made.

I will check on the postage costs to send it out,1 litre of wood vinegar here is under 200Baht,that on Ebay converts to nearly 900baht,i have a feeling though the postage will kill it.

EDIT..I just did a google and to send 1 litre EMS is 1100baht,so as i thought theres no point.... :(

Is that the website and address for the link I posted CoachChris? Ecotonic is the name of a rock band as well.

Thanks guys. I figure this is probably someone who bought in bulk and tried or is trying to repackage. Looks like they have an Ebay store so depending on what happens with the liquid smoke, I may give them a try

The wood vinegar eBay price is good. I'm going to order some later today. I'll use the liquid smoke for my smoker.

Good idea, so far I'm not seeing much activity in the liquid smoke treatment but Wright's works well as intended. Could be a dilution issue or maybe there's some additional messing about going on :dontknow: .
