If you could get one of those cones inline, like before the DWC bed, then pump pure oxygen into it, and have the water gravity feeding through it, then it'd dissolve the precious oxygen into the system. Then it's just recirculating the oxygen through the cone. You wouldn't need as much oxygen if you're recirculating it through the cone thing.

*ponders*

I'll wait and see what Gungulla says, he's usually pretty electrical savvy.

Yea the cone is for injecting oxygen in the bottom, water in the top, water moves down as air moves up, water keeps air from leaving as it keeps pushing it back down.

thats the basic design principal anyway

Try to get yourself one of these https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxygen_concentrator secondhand. Dead rich person who bought one and the family are getting rid of it.

Then take a feed off your pump or return to the FT to induce a venturi effect (look up ozone generators for spa's and how they do it). It isn't the most effective way, but splitting the H2O bond with anodes and cathodes in electrolysis sucks. :)

Had one dumped down the tip a while ago; I thought about it a bit but I collect too much stuff.

No landfill recycling centers near you? if there are ask them to look out for one (providing they are on there game and know what they are selling), :)

Third option:

Then hook it into a cone. If it's continually bubbling away/recirculating it wouldn't use that much oxygen.

Hmmm.....

I'm also curious if very oxygenated water would get my trout through summer.

Lower tech option, what if I had an inline venturi, and an air trap that'd catch the oxygen, then the venturi would suck the oxygen and recirculate it?

Venturi - that implies FAST flow, which you may or may not have..
Fast flow implies restriction + Back pressure..

Nothing answers the unasked question - WHY.. Why do you need it, and how would having it make any difference.. IF you raised the DO from (I know not what figures) from 8 to 9.65, will it make ANY difference.. :dontknow:

In other word, what DO change is needed to make a significant difference

I've got more flow than I need atm, so I'm not worried about loosing a little.

And to answer your other questions

No idea. But I want to know.

the oxygen will get very expensive.

your venturi and box idea, i dont get how it is meant to help, you are just recycling atmospheric air, recycling wont help a thing.
in a case like that, you could think of the planet as your "air box" to suck from and return to.

of coarse im probably wrong and you mean recycling the oxygen from the bottle, might be easier said than done and more effective in the imagination than in real life.

your airbox design would be a less effective "aeration cone".

But if it's pure oxygen instead, so 99.9% oxygen, instead of the 20% oxygen from the atmosphere, surely you wouldn't need as much of it, and if it was in a continual loop, so the oxygen is cycling back and forth until it's absorbed into the water, you'd have a higher quantity of oxygen in the water, and not need as much.

But it's still theoretical, I'm not about to go and buy an oxygen tank yet.

well the problem you will have is knowing what levels you have, at what rate you need to add to gain any extra you need and the change in seasons.
i mean sure, you could simply do that or make a cone which should technically use all of the oxygen that enters, but how do you know that the bottle a week you use is not way too much or the 1/2 bottle per month is not just pointless?

i think without spending stupid amounts on other monitoring equipment then a lot of study, you would just be throwing good money after bad.

but luckily you arent stupid and this is just a pipe dream.
