BUMP.. how I pity you poor Brisbane folk, not being able to get theses things.. near give away prices.. :headbang: actually just to cover the cost of retrieving them from storage elsewhere..

Went to a local chemical supplier yesterday, for cheap pool salt, ($8 a bag) and saw pristine IBCs and asked what they did with them when empty.. they offered to sell them at 300 each.. :bootyshake: when I commented that I could buy same for twenty bucks, they asked for the number..

I started chopping my two yesterday and realised the product inside WAS hydrochloric acid, as used in electroplating etc. So do be careful ... (the label said Glycol)
HYDROCHLORIC ACID .. is a perfect product, as you COULD use it for pH lowering, and hence safeish for fish.. and. I suggest it would be clear of all outer contaminants .. :thumbleft: cleaned the drive way at least.. and safe for the sewer in small amounts.. (mine had about a half litre)

PM ME for the phone number... They helped me... I would like to help them..

Just rubbing it in ahaha

What type of store are they?

Might see if they have a Brisbane outlet, or look up similar businesses

They are electroplaters... and it is Hydrochloric. Acid..
So I suspect they think it s too dangerous to reuse and consider them as scrap..

So I would search yellow pages for electroplaters and pay them a visit.. :-)

A good wash and they should be OK, Hydrochloric acid is used to lower pH in AP

BUMP.. or perhaps :naughty:

It seems that I did too good a job in helping Joe with his hoard of IBC's

Only a couple left and generally, the better ones have all gone..

So congratulations to all those who got them.. I know there were tears from other states..

He could not place any prior to our interest :thumbleft:
