Hi Martin hope every thing is well for you and the mamily. Good luck with the fish hunting look forward to your new system thread. Cheers

Thanks Bear. Really want to get that system going but everything is parked until the finances come right. Just have to be patient. I am hoping that I would be able to set it up just before spring and have it cycling as the warm weather hit but I don't know if I will be that lucky with the timing.

In a previous post you talked about bugs and spraying your bok choy. What do you spray with that doesn't harm the fish?

Hi emp, this is whar I use but not sure if you would get the exact stuff in the states. Recommended by a friend who does organic gardening and they have aquaponics as well. If it rains you have to spray again. Cheers

Have not done any thing with the systems for a while and the only test for winter was two weeks ago. Every thing just runs at its own pace. The fngerlings are starting to eat now with the temperatures swinging between 16/20c. Another two months and I will have to empty the main tank and do some repairs to the SLO and RFF then add the new silver perch fingerlings from the RAS.

Barra system is going well and should be able to get the first ones out by the end of the month. Should be between 500 and 600 grams which is where we wanted them.

Been geting a bit of rain this week which is welcome as the tanks were a bit low. Take care and have a great weekend. Cheers

I had a look at the MSDS for the spray you use and it doesn't look very good, it states toxicity to aquatic life in tests with rainbow trout (lethal concentrating with 50% death at 30mg per liter), toxic to beds and it states various withholding periods on produce and gets stored quickly in the leaf material to be poisonous when leaf material is consumed by target insects.

All systems are now gone and our move to Adelaide completed.

Still have airstones, airpumps, water pumps and plenty of pipe fittings at good prices. PM if interested we are in Happy Valley.

Would like to thank every one over the years who has helped me along the path. Just a few charlie, Rob, Scotty Ron just afew that comes to mind.

Land here is to small to set up a system which would keep me happy so now I have to build a shed and try my hand at model trains.

Thank you and good luck to every one. Cheers

Thank you CCBear. I really appreciate the help you and Rob gave me with setting up a Recirculating Aquaculture System, it's been a lot of fun. Best wishes in your new endeavors.

Pity to here you are leaving ccBear.

But on the other hand model trains is a good replacement. Plenty of building hours ahead of you with that.
