beautiful wilds. I can't wait to get my bathing suit out and do get in my FT. Koi are pretty quick aren't they? We moved some of ours to a 110 gallon tank for mosquito larva control and when they were done I had to catch them to put them back in the aquarium. Koi like to come to the surface and tear back down. I love watching my fish, should have done this years ago.

Mr Chatterson. Sir.
Please forgive me.
I read and reread your posts for tips and hints.
I also confess to scrutinizing any, and all photos.
In your recent photo of Koi tanks you have what appears to be a one inch pipe split through a ‘T’ into two going into the water. The high water marks would indicate this is a permanent fitting.
It would seem to be an air pipe.
I am intrigued.
Are there air stones below the surface?
I use a brass reducer to get my 15 mm pipes down to 6 mm silicone tube. Is there a non metal equivalent?
Are they just open one inch pipes? Closed lop with holes drilled?
If so. How do you prevent, water flowing back in the event of no air pressure?
I am not a free thinker just a shameless mimic.

Titus,

I think the first page in this thread is what you are looking for.. about 3/4 way down

viewtopic.php?f=18&t=8754

he taps the pvc and goes to airstones.

Thank you.
But look again. In the earlier post the one inch air delivery lines stay above the water.tapped as said and then silicone tubes to air stones.
In the Koi tank the twin one inch lines clearly go at least one foot below the surface. Now if they are then tapped into silicone/air stones fine.
Does the extra one inch pipe, going below the surface, deliver more air by entering the tank lower down?
Or is it just a looped pipe with holes drilled? No air stones.
