When I add seasol and chelated iron the water does go a browny-yellow colour. I don't worry about it. It goes away after a while.

I mix mine in a small bucket and feed it to the individual plants.

I noticed some slow down in water volume to the Grow Beds so I took all the pipe apart and knocked all the bio-film into a bucket. Flow is great, I dumped the good stuff on one of the beds mixed with water.

Snow peas came up today, a potato started out of the rock and the green peppers are gaining strength. I must post some pics. Life is good.

I finally got around to taking some pics. I moved one of my grow beds on April the 19th. Today is day 12 since I transplanted some tomatoes and some Green peppers. I also planted from seed some Pak Choi, green peppers, lettuce, to potatoes, cilantro, green beansand some basil.

There are a lot of things coming up and the sun seems to be hitting the new grow bed about 6-7 hours per day.

I ate my first product from the system in 6 months today! It was some cilantro I planted about 3 months ago and it never grew more than about 8 -10 cms high but the taste was great! Spurs me on to taste more veggies.

It has been about 5 months since I put the tilapia in. I would say I have about 50 that are 450+ grams about 10 that are 750 grams and about 100 between 200 to 400 grams. There are maybe anoither 100 that are still too small to eat.

The new position of the growbed is about 10 meters from the fish tank. Since the tank is above ground, the height of the GB is formidable. I may have to harvest from a ladder. But since it is a rental house......

The return line from the Gb to the tank is what I want to make into NFT. I bought some square PVC tube that would work well and want to use it the whole 10 meters. I should be able to fit in plenty of lettuce and spinach in there. I will have to construct a hefty support system though.

This is my first ever growbed started in November of 2006. It has been through all the ups and downs of the system and and has kept producing bacteria for my other growbeds.

5 days later, my water is still quite brown from adding the chelated iron. I think I can see some difference in the plants but not sure if it is the increased sun or the iron, or maybe just my imagination. :)

How much chelated iron did you put in? I would have used a spoonful ( a 5 gram spoon measure came with mine)

Your system is starting to take on a personality of its own..keep up the good work (and the pics  )

I used 4 grams in 2400 liters of fish tank and 1200 liters of grow bed.

Putting in too much isn't the pro then...should have cleared up by now tho, good thing is it won't harm the fish

I went to a friends this evening and pulled up some lemon grass.
1. Will it grow in a growbed? (I think either EB or VB has some somewhere not sure if dirt or GB)

2. Will it do better in sun or partial sun?
