Last week I inquired about buying more channel catfish from the pet store where I got my first batch of 24, a few months back. They actually had an order placed, which came in last night, so I picked up 20 more today after work. They also had a lone adult male tilapia left that was getting harassed in the tank he was in, and I bought him for $15 (maybe overpaid? dunno). The channel cats cost me $4 each.

The tilapia I've named Boris. This is the only fish I've named. I need to find Boris a partner...

Well the natural choice for Boris's partner would be Natasha (As in Rocky and Bullwinkle).

Nice looking catfish.

If/when I get a female tilapia, she'll definitely be Natasha.

On a side note, Boris is swimming slightly sideways, hopefully he'll make it...

Cathode, congrats on the new arrivals. Have you considered looking for an aquaculture company locally? You might be able to get them cheaper then from a pet store. The most popular one here sells channel cats for $2

OK maybe I'am the dummy, but looking at your pics I cant tell the difference so in your second pic could you put a circle around Boris please.

I suppose the fish are just a bit more shy than usual but none of the catfish nor Boris are coming to the surface to eat...

EDIT: I should mention, there were 25 catfish in the tank before I added 20 more, and they would surface to eat floating food almost immediately after I put it in. But now, nobody is eating, not the new guys nor the old guys.
