Grew up on the beach Ron. Where the last 3 world champion surfers have come from. Too bad I wasn't that good on a surf board. :headbang:

Surfing means falling off of the board a lot, and sometimes, you stand up on a wave. All the falling down is worth it though. The reward of catching a wave far outweighs the risk of falling off, plus you are still having fun in the sun.

I can still catch a wave, but I still can't rip like the younger kids can, and still fall too often. I get frustrated doing things I'm not good at after a short time of practicing. Surfing is one of those activities. I don't suck, but certainly not much better then average. Bowling is another one that is similar. I like things that are more direct competition, and particularly ones that have rackets or paddles. Tennis, racquetball, squash, ping pong, and recently pickle ball. The last is on a tiny court, but still fun. You can actually play that while drinking rum.lol
