Over the last two days the largest fish in my tank have died. Lost half-dozen 5 inch comets and two 6 inch catfish so far. I still have another 18 cats and a bunch of smaller comet goldfish that seem fine along with my 15 or so Sunfish.

Tested the water and only thing that was off was pH, which was at about 6.0 I've correct this as seen in the attached photo though. I've had my pH all over the place the last six months, but never that low. Would low pH kill fish without any warning?

Any other ideas?

Sorry they died :(

How did the fish look? Flared gills? White specks? Cotton wool substance on them? Rotting tail? Physical damage?

They looked ok. Nothing odd. My chickens enjoyed picking at the bodies. Full circle.

If you get any others dying, make sure you get a pictures before the chickens have lunch. Sometimes there is something we can spot on a photo.
