This is cookies thread. It is hard to argue with the success he is getting with his mineralization at the moment. I would read through at least the last 6 pages.

What's the purpose of your mineralizer? If you're just trying to get additional nutrients I'd stick with using the aerobic method, it's faster. If you're having a problem with Nitrates being high then use the anaerobic method since this will release nitrogen gas (N2). The anaerobic method will give you some H2S (Hydrogen Sulfide) gas if you run it too long (which is pretty nasty smelling). You could also get methane given off as a gas. Both methane and H2S are flammable so you might want this somewhere with good ventilation in case you overshoot your endpoint.

Hello scotty... I considered it from reading on the internet that anaerobic mineralization would release more of the other nutrients from the fish solids, while aerobic mineralization would mainly provide nitrogen.

I don't really know if this is true since chancing upon a guide by Wilson Lennard wherein he only talks about offline aerobic mineralization.

Good stuff there, and it seems so easy to implement.

On the thread posted above if you choose to read all of it. Cookie ventures through Anarobic mineralization (with all the toys to check all the levels). He is now running an inline aerobic MT and is getting awesome results.

Yeah all the parts needed are easily findable in the Phils. Simple yet effective design.

Hi everyone ,

Newbie here , I am having problem with my tilapia , from 40 I am down to 20 tilapia , what do you think is the possible problem in the system? is it due to rain? or lack of sunlight? And also what are the possible sites or seminars I can attend to , so that I can enhance my knowledge?

I lost quite a few tilapia fingerlings at the start due to them being sucked into the SLO. I am also looking for a tilapia seminar, have a number of questions on feeding.
