I'm growing papayas (Pawpaw) from seeds that a collected from a organic papaya both at the supermarket, right now I have 30-35 trees in my aquaponic system that are about 5-6 feet tall, about a year old and are doing well, but so far I have no flowers of any kind. I remember from growing up in Brazil and having papayas trees in the back yard, that the trees start flowering at about 6 month. Advice is welcome

Welcome to the forum rubensalves.

I haven't tried growing papaya. I wonder if light levels are enough different here in Oregon that they flower later because they haven't stored up enough energy. Might also be a nutrient deficiency. Be interested to see pics if you have any.

I know some of the Aussies grow these as well as a few in Florida so hopefully they'll weigh in.

Cheers

5-6 feet and no flowers doesn't sound right... I wonder if perhaps they may have been a hybrid variety and the offspring are aren't very "fruitful".. If you have lot in your system and they don't start producing within the next few months I'd be starting to think of pulling them.
