talking about living on the edge, I was trying to work out where to purge these fish. So I went to B  , got shitty, bought a $30 1000 lph pond pump, went to FIL's house, "borrowed" a 240 litre wheelie bin that he wasn't using, and headed home. Got home, walked in the door, had a moment of clarity 8) ! The bath! "heather, can I purge the fish in the bathroom?" "So long as you put the door back on so the kids can't get in!" Couldn't believe my ears, so before she could change her mind, the bath has a pump in it and a bucket biofilter with gravel from my system and becomes the final home for my fish before they hit the barbie. It's really perfect, I can drain the bath every day and fill up with rainwater, and if they get a bit cold, I can just turn on the hot tap! Also bought 25 kg's of pool salt for $6.80 :D so I will put 800 grams in each time I change out the water, which I will do every day for the next 4 days. Now to pick my victims.

Am very pleased with myself having just set up my first autosyphon in the bathtub purging system. 1000 lph pump 13mm line in, 19mm flexihose from the hydro shop in a loop. After changing the loop from garden hose(too low a flow out) to the flexihose, iot worked first time. I love it!

Started off by doing that but hthought I had the arvo to myself so I would try an autosyphon for much more effective filtering. Very glad I did.

Hot water cylinder would make a darn good header/heater tank Mon ..... into the AP toolkit for the holesaw and Sisatek .......LOL

You'd be able to get them through winter no problems.... probably grow them up to about a kg ..... LOL

5 fish are in the bath, water is clearing up nicely after the initial dirty up with the dug out gravel. I'm not sure if they like the slamon coloured bath.....
