What did you do to fix your system? That really sucks!

I do have about a 341l fish tank that I was planning on using for a quarantine system. I will have to set it up and put the fish on there.

I killed 35 mature Silvers and about 30 trout, when the sump-pump electrified the water.. the salt that I added to help the trout that I added, actually caused their deaths..

Drained the system and refilled with double Carbon-Filtered water, and later tried 30 trout.. dead in under a day.. NO IDEA what that issue was as all nitrate levels were zero

Changed the water again but with rain water, and added another 20 trout after a few weeks.
Dead in a day..

left it for some weeks and added some KOI babies, thinking I was finished with trout..
they survived and still do today..

SOMETHING is in there must be toxic to trout and it must be in a grow bed, and I am not game to risk it again, so I'm building an Off-Line Aquaculture system, with some new clay balls and with a system that can't easily have something toxic added to pollute the whole thing..

As already said - be very careful with normal tap water - I try to use only rain water..
but I hope that two LARGE carbon filters in series, would be OK for removing most of the nasties from tap water.. ( But that came at a significant price - for the privilege of using tap water directly )
..

Buidoi,
Did you check for chloramines in tap water? That is usually killer to most fish especially trout. And a double carbon filter is not a guarantee for removal of them.

They are doing ok. I did loose another 2 fish, but fingers crossed, we are stable. I only use rain water, as I'm on a well and can't aff using our drinking water. I don't ever have to worry about chlorine in my water.

I will wait a few weeks and then I will get more fish, but this time I will defiantly quarantine them. How long should one quarantine new fish?

I forgot to mention, sorry to here about your trout. That really sucks when you invest money in fish to have them die on you.
