Just an opening post, my pumps, aerators, IBC's (x3) are all ordered and awaiting delivery. I hope to set up the system over the summer and have it running with cold water fish for the autumn (fall), temp can drop to -5 degrees centigrade here, average around 3-5 degrees.

I intend to build a CHOP2 system - x3 growing beds, 1,000L fish tank and a 700L sump.

If all goes well I hope to expand to - x6 beds, vertical pipe planting and two 750L fish tanks (1,500L) next year. The plan is to rotate fingerlings and grown fish in separate tanks to have a (relatively) continuous supply?

I've managed to source pumps and aerators which have battery backup, solar panels and plug in options so as to add resilience to the system.

I'll begin by posting my schematic for the system, then follow with photo's of the on going work.

Please, please comment on my errors or you have any ideas to improve on it?

Hi John
Welcome. IMHO summer heat can be more of a problem than cold winters.
All sounds good. Any help just ask.
Post pictures. We love pictures
