I'm going to have to print this thread out and read it like a book, complete with pictures and all. :D

I did that with my blog once. There was an ad on the blog control panel that offered to print it for 60$ or something, but could knock up a PDF for free.

It's amazing how much better words look when they are in a book form.

Although that might just be because I read a lot, and am an old dude. Watching videos in book form gets tricky. The book offer just left them out. Didn't even put a URL of the youtube link.

I think the technology to print video screens on paper exists... it is just still really expensive. At Disneyland, I saw wall paper that changed its pattern.

Just another quick observation from the little yabby research aquarium sitting on my desk.

I have the aquarium 1/3 filled with aquaponics clay balls, and the yabbies (now 2cm long) are starting to dig themselves into it. It might prove to be the perfect place to hide to shed your shell because there is no opening to your hole. Once you dig in, the balls just fall back on top of you leaving nothing of interest at all for the other yabbies.

Filtering is done by leaving a gap underneath the balls, and drawing water from that space via airlift. So basically it acts as a growbed.

After (I'm guess) a couple of months (has it been that long?)...

0 ammonia
0 nitrites
20 nitrates

I have a few water plants to remove the nitrates, but there's not a lot of natural light hitting the tank, so they don't grow so well.

The filter is known as an under-gravel filter and isn't my idea.

You can buy them from aquarium shops. They consist of a corrugated plastic sheet with slots cut into it to let the water in, and a pipe for the outlet. You dump your gravel on it, connect your pump/air and that's it for ever. The only issue is salts building up over a long time from your topup water because you are not pulling any plants out of the system. A hand full of duckweed would deal with the nitrites and salts if you threw some away every few weeks. I grew a tank full of guppies for years without a water change 30 years ago using an undergravel filter bought from an aquarium shop. They had babies as well so I'm guessing they were in nice water.

from here (link contains adult language)...

Apparently attaching a float to a fish with a swim bladder problem and then feeding it a pea fixes a sick fish.

Even if it doesn't it's slightly interesting.

Are you asking the original slinger, or the invention engine? :)

Staple guns are out right?

interesting.

I'm learning a lot

I've also lost the left lens of my glasses so I cant be held responsible for anything I say in any way ever.

Dont feed your yabbies if you dont want them to fight, but if you feed them Brussels sprouts. you wont think they are eating them, but then suddenly they dissolve as they've been eaten from the inside out.

They stay fresh for ever, dont rot, and perhaps even grow under water. (see future for more information on growing greens completely underwater (so much to to do etc))

Yabnbies love slime and duckweed]

yabbies can get by with suprisingly few limbs

yabbies dont think the homes I make for them are any good

Duckweed is more interesting than you think in so many ways

yabies chew on the crud tat grows on clay balls the way that humans chew on corn cobs

no glasses

I think I left my left lens on a paddle steamer

I invented something that will save people who fall through ice on lakes or whatever, anyone want in?

by the way, I trained my fish to hit a leaver for food, and it took them only three days to figure it out on their own. and there were only sa few false hits a day where they couldn't get food because the light wasn't on.

I grew escargo for a bit and coind two phrases.

Snails. They're fast than you think!

and..

Never turn you back on a snail.

to that I would add.

Fish are not quite as stupid as you might think.

I know it's not a very polished turn of phradre, but it's short notice, and I cant see out of my left eye.
